For one of our production facilities in East Flanders where custom electrical cabinets are produced, we are looking for a chief technician. The chief technician is responsible for the day-to-day management of the injection molding plant. The chief technician is responsible for the proper operation of the machinery and manages 2 technicians.Job description
- You will report to the plant manager
- You manage a team of 2 (possibly later 3 or 4) injection molding technicians;
- You are responsible for the proper operation of the machinery:
- Setting up the injection molding machines, robots, molds and other equipment (automations, transport of raw materials, compressors, cooling groups, grinding mills, silos, storage, laboratory,…)
- Preventive and curative maintenance of all machines, molds and equipment
- Maintain contact with machine, mold and equipment suppliers and maintenance technicians.
- Start-up of new machines and equipment.
- You ensure review and acceptance of work delivered;
- You carry out quality tests
- You make proposals of investments and production improvements
- You participate in the development of new products
- You write and maintain the production and safety procedures
- You maintain the logs of the machines and equipment
Profile
- You have a bachelor’s degree with a technical orientation
- You must have a diversified knowledge in electricity, electronics, mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics to allow you to make the correct diagnosis in case of failure and fix the problem.
- You have a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in an injection molding company
- Experience with plastics, plastic machines and knowledge of molds is necessary
- You must have a great sense of responsibility
- You must be flexible in your hourly schedules
- You are hands-on, can work independently, are a team player and results-oriented
